I was recently interested in looking at leprechaun's and was wondering why they got such a bad reputation. But I came across a different type of leprechauns' called a clurichaun. They are the reason leprechauns get a bad name. So I dug a little deeper, and found that there are several other fairies who aren't as good as some fairy tales seem to try and prove. I found several that seemed generally good but it would just be a front to lure in their victims. Some were sneaky, while others didn't even try to cover up the fact that they were evil. Most of these stories originated from Northern European countries while some didn't truly have a specific origin. So I dove into these stories and see if they happened to connect to each other or were completely original ideas. So here it is... terribly, frightening fairies and where they came from.

The Global Folklore Project is an attempt to survey folk narratives from around the globe. Other students have created their own webpage and filled it with content about their own topic. You can see these several other topics by clicking down below.
